1. Information We Collect

SnapReel does not require user registration or login. We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or Instagram credentials.

When you use our service, our servers temporarily process the Instagram URL you submit in order to extract and return the media download link. We do not store the URLs you paste, the media itself, or any identifying information tied to your requests beyond what is required for standard server logging (IP address, timestamp, HTTP status code).

2. Server Logs

Like all web servers, our server automatically records basic access logs including IP addresses, browser user agents, and request timestamps. These logs are used solely for security monitoring, abuse prevention, and rate limiting. Log files are rotated and deleted after 7 days.

3. Cookies

SnapReel uses a single functional cookie (theme) to remember your dark/light mode preference. This cookie contains no personal data and is not used for tracking. No first-party tracking or advertising cookies are set by SnapReel.

If you accept optional cookies, Google AdSense may set its own advertising cookies. You can manage these preferences via our cookie consent banner or at adssettings.google.com.

4. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies and similar technologies to show relevant ads based on your browsing activity across websites. SnapReel does not share personal data with Google beyond what is transmitted via standard browser requests.

Google's use of advertising cookies is described in their Advertising Privacy Policy. You may opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com.

5. Data Security

All connections to SnapReel are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. We do not store downloaded media on our servers. Media files are streamed directly from Instagram's CDN to your device. No user-uploaded content exists on SnapReel's infrastructure.

6. GDPR — Rights for EEA / UK Residents

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right of access — Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to erasure — Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Right to object — Object to the processing of your data for direct marketing.
  • Right to restrict processing — Request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability — Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

Because SnapReel does not collect personal data beyond temporary server logs (deleted within 7 days), most GDPR requests will result in a confirmation that no personal data is held. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@snapreel.app.

Our legal basis for processing IP addresses in server logs is legitimate interest (security monitoring and abuse prevention), as permitted by GDPR Article 6(1)(f).

7. CCPA — Rights for California Residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you the following rights:

  • The right to know what personal information is collected about you.
  • The right to request deletion of your personal information.
  • The right to opt out of the sale of your personal information.
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

8. Children's Privacy

SnapReel is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our service, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of SnapReel after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
